Hot dry weather in Virginia. Floods in China. Go figure. Life in a
hotel is not exactly like on The Suite Life of Zach and Cody, but we
are managing to amuse ourselves playing cards, walking around,
coloring, and watching TV. I thought Sponge Bob sounded funny speaking
Russian but he is even funnier in Chinese.
The Garden Hotel in Guangzhou is amazing. If our hotel in Nanning was
5 stars, this place must get at least 10. The hotel lobby is opulent
(with marble flooring and amazing chandeliers) and all the rooms are
large modern suites. Of particular interest is our bathroom area which
has a tub and shower adjacent to one another but enclosed together in
glass and mirrors, in plain view of the bedroom and vice versa.
Intriguing.
There is some sort of Floral Exhibition in the hotel lobby which must
be a pretty big deal. All of the local TV stations were out covering
it so naturally we wanted to share it with you all, especially since
our internet connection is now functional.
The hotel seems to cater to foreigners, especially Japanese. I forgot
how many people in Asia smoke, however, and there is even an ash tray
near our elevator right beneath the "No Smoking" sign. Convenient to
put out your accidental cigarette I suppose.
We got Housekeeping to clean out our fridge and then we went grocery
shopping. So many wonderful options at the supermarket. Seafood
Pringles and sweet potato gummy worms are just a few options. Since a
picture paints a thousand words...
